Festival and Culture

The culturally diverse Annapurna Rural Municipality celebrates several festivals. Gurung and Magar communities are the dominant ethnic groups in the south, while Thakali, Manage, and Loba are prevalent in the north. These groups speak their dialect and have unique cultures and traditions. Hinduism and Buddhism are prevalent in this region. Various mythical structures related to Buddhism and Hinduism along with Gumbas can be observed throughout the Annapurna trail. It is the natural and cultural heritage that has made Annapurna Area a popular tourist destination in Nepal.
